Mr. Danon has made a significant contribution to the conversation about peace, Israel, and the Middle East. Even those who hold entrenched views on Israel will find much in the book to think about - the author's ability to effectively link key historical events to the position Israel finds itself in today gives readers a fresh look at the past and places it in relevant context. Danon's long term view of a workable peace process may be difficult for some to envision, but the author also makes a convincing case to see the "three state solution" as a viable and humane pathway to conciliation in the region - one that is worth working hard to achieve no matter how long it takes. I recommend the book to anyone who cares about the future of Israel.

Short book but long on information. Need to read it slowly and then read it again and take notes. I am 70 and learned way more from this book than I ever learned about this topic in school.

Look at one in BC times. Isreal was there. They have that land because it was given to them by God. They launched the 6 day war to get better borders. Do you know what they call the pre 1967 borders? The Auschwitz (a polish nazi concentration camp where over a million people were murdered in) borders as they were so indefencible. They have the best civil rights record in the Middle East. They allow religious freedom and gay rights. They are better then the Palistinians in my opinion. Yes I said that and I mean it as the Palistinians cobtantly fire rockets into Israel. Samuel Govaerts. USA.

Look up a reputable map of 1946 or 1947 from the Middle Eastern region... no Israel, only Palestine. Look up a map dated a few years later, suddenly Israel shows up. Palestine has been Palestine forever. Palestine throws rocks at it's invaders and Israel, backed by the United States, fires rockets. The Israeli people elected a war criminal (from the Lebanon 7-day war) as Prime Minister yet cry and bemoan the way Israelis are treated. Tell the truth, Israel!!! You overtake land which is not yours and kill Arabs for the simple reason that hate fills your hearts!!!
