Reviewed by Anastacia Hawkins for Readers' Favorite "Julie Andrews’ Treasury for All Seasons: Poems and Songs to Celebrate the Year" is a beautiful collection of poems and lyrics gathered by Julie herself, and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton. The book is divided by seasons with an introduction to each season written by Julie, sharing her memories of the season spent with her own children and grandchildren. Works from poets such as Myra Cohn Livingston, John Updike, Emily Dickinson, and Walt Whitman, along with songs written by legendary song writers such as Oscar and William Hammerstein and Cole Porter will delight and engage your children throughout the year. There are also special sections for the Sabbath, Birthdays, New Babies, and Coming of Age. "Julie Andrews’ Treasury for All Seasons" is a gorgeous book filled with poetry and fun, vibrant illustrations. The personal letters from Julie at the beginning of each section are heartwarming and full of insight as to why she and her daughter, Emma, chose certain selections for that season. The poems selected are whimsical and relatable, such as 'Happy Winter-Steamy Tub', 'I Made My Dog a Valentine', and 'Going Downhill on a Bicycle'. There are also touching titles such as 'Martin Luther King Day', 'Mama-A Rainbow', 'If', and 'Flags' written by Julie Andrews herself. The opening letters give us a glimpse into the life and motherhood of an icon. "Treasury for All Seasons" is just that, a treasure. It is a keepsake collection to be kept ready and available to pick up and read aloud often, best with children of all ages.

As the first anthology compiled by Julie Andrews and her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton, this book is easy reading and a delight to see what was chosen by these two ladies. As a poetry lover all my life, several poems are familiar, but reading them has brought out the desire for me to sit down again and write. Julie and Emma are talented ladies, and among the many books written by them, this one that they compiled will remain one of my favorites.
