Annalina has a few worries about entering kindergarten (scary teacher? big kids? sharing?) All are quickly debunked/humorously handled in this delightful book. Anna tackles writing her name and making new friends. The fabulous monkey-bar scenes (which show the kids' pretend world) were favorites at our house. The book manages to present this often-covered subject in a fresh, sweet and funny way. It's really one of the best starting-kindergarten books I've ever seen.

I just read this story to my Kindergarten class today and they loved it and laughed out loud. I thought the illustrations were great especially how the girl imagines how her Kinder teacher will look. It is a keeper for September read aloud.
