Love Struck

3.9 34
by Melissa Marr

Alana knows the legends of selchies, the sea-fey who leave their seal-like pelts behind when they walk on land, passing for humans. But she never imagined she would meet one—let alone two—on the night of an otherwise forgettable beach party.

The selchie Murrin, though, has long imagined actually meeting Alana, the girl he has chosen over the sea

I was surprised that the story itself was such a quickie....but beautiful nonetheless. For $1.99 i did expect more than 30ish pages. I have read other books from this author, and those were regular novels. In truth, i dont regret buying this novella because the story was sweet. However, it should be known prior to purchasing that this is indeed a novella and not a full novel. I wish i knew how the story ended, it feels unfinished.

Not really what I was expecting. The first part of the book (the whole book is like 53 pages) is love struck, which is a short story. There are two other storys in the book which are the preface and first chapters of her other books. Love Struck was a good short story, I think it could have been a little longer and maybe made into a full langth book. It is a nice story to read on a rainny day.

This was way to short, the story didnt seem original, and the price was too much. Its a shame, I loved the Wicked Lovely series so much.

This short story is unbelievably cute, about a girl who is determined not to let herself be hurt by love, and a water fey who loves her and is bound to her--forcing her to decide if she really doesn't want the love he can give her. Very much a good read, if very short--though that can be a good thing!

Generally stories about selchie's don't really have happy endings so I thought it was an interesting ending. It was very short so you didn't have a lot of time to get too involved with the characters, but overall this was an ok story.
