This book singlehandedly inspired me to become more than i ever dreamed i could as a Christian. Since reading this book, I've become active in speaking my community and region in sacred and secular venues alike. Dr. Moreland is one of the great Christian 'heroes' of our time. I've bought numerous copies of this book and given them to friends, family and acquaintances over the last several years. I more than highly recommend this book to you.. i consider it to be a must read for all Christians, not just those who consider themselves to be 'intellectual.'

This book is a must read for any Christian that wants to make an impact not only in his/her church but also the world around them. He gets back to the fundementals we have lost in the modern church today. He not only gives the biblical base for his view, but he also communicates it very clearly and makes it clear that this is just not for the intellectual few, but every Christian. By the end of the book I was inspired.

Moreland brilliantly identifies the plague of anti-intellectualism in the modern evangelical church and provides key distinctions for developing a deep, coherent, consistent understanding of the role of reason in the life of discipleship to Jesus Christ. If taken seriously, this book has the power to initiate a movement within the church to become, once again, a powerful voice in the public square. Every pastor absolutely must read this book if we as a church are to stand in this post-Christian, post-modern world in which we live.

Moreland gives an excellent critique of the role that the mind plays in the life of a Christian. He offers scriptural as well as extra-biblical evidence why it is important to develop an intellectual life which compliments the spiritual life and suggests ways of doing this both on an individual and corporate level.
