The two main characters, Bo Creel and Scratch Morton, are up to their necks in trouble in this continuation of their travels together as partners. Bo and Scratch can make friends or enemies faster than anyone you’ve ever known. Before they’ve even ride into town, they’ve made two enemies that are determined to make them pay. Then they end up becoming deputies working for the town marshal that handles all of the problems in town by staying drunk. They arrest two sons of a rich (but crooked) family that have run everything in town by fear. Put them in jail, but have a hard time keeping the marshal sober long enough to guard the prisoners, while they try to deal with other problems that keep cropping up. This is a must read story that makes you wonder how you would handle this array of problems that could only happen to Bo and Scratch.
