This is a good reveiw for women (or men) who have spouses with alcohol dependency issues. While the author does not offer much in the way of concrete answers she does begin to touch on some of the issues that are commonly faced by spouses of alcoholics. In its best form, it is a nice primer for more detailed literature that deals with this very complex and difficult problem.

Anyone living with an alcoholic needs to read this book if they want to understand the problem. This book provides an honest look at the issues facing families of alcoholics, and offers some understanding and options. I definitely recommend this book if you are ready to face the reality of the problem.

I found this book cited in another self-helf book and was surprised to find such an old copyright date. It wasn't even available at our library anymore. The information in this book is still very current today and provides insight into the disease of alcoholism. Sound advice is given that aligns itself with the AA philosophy. It is worth reading if you live with alcoholism.
