I have always been fond of Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses and I opted for this Mosby edition because it was offering a later publication date than Davis's. Though the reference is up to date on content, Mosby's is not utilizing all the available formatting possibilities that a two-color printing can offer. For example, a bold green could have been used to highlight precautions instead of bold black. The choice of green and black ink instead of red and black as found in Davis's and Lippincott's drug books doesn't provide enough contrast for my preference when highlighting high priority interaction and teaching information. I also wish the book had a visual reference for identifying less common tablets and capsules. I find the content concise and valuable, but caution those less experienced users, such as students who need to present to their instructors on the clinical floor, who might want to seek out Davis's as an alternative.

I am a nurse and in the healthcare system. This drug reference is used every night that I work. This referene is so well used that the pages are already dogeared. In the home, it is an easy read for the lay person to keep up to date on meds perscribed by their doctors. Also the pages are in large print for the visual challenged.
