Once there were almost no children's books about York, so this one survived and thrived, despite numerous errors. The most glaring is the featured event of York saving Clark, Sacagawea, and Pomp, from a flash flood. This never happened. York showed up later. Anyone who bothered to read the journals would know this book has it wrong. Fortunately there are now several books about York available, all highly accurate.
