I can't really say much that hasn't already been said by previous reviewers, but I wanted to get my 5-star rating in at least. This book is written in plain and simple English, which makes it very fast-paced, but also accessible and entertaining. I own several other books of Norse mythology, but none of them is as detailed about the wanderings of Odin in quest of knowledge. Colum's coverage here is priceless. Speaking of paganism, please note that while Odin makes a sacrifice for perfect wisdom, his lust for knowledge isn't portrayed as evil as it is in the Faust legend. Knowledge as an end in itself comes at a price, but is not seen as self-indulgent or proud. Bravo for the Vikings! Anyway, this book is one of my favorites from the past few years. I hope others continue to enjoy it (and keep it in print)!

The things i liked about this book: 1. It is in a sequence. 2. IT has most of the facts in. 3. It is in simple english 4. There are redundant back references which helps to retain information.

This is a an excellent book on Norse Gods, and the pictures are great! I wish it gave more information on what each god was the god of.

I read this book and it helped me become a better pagan. It helped me get in tune with the Norse Gods and Goddesses and I helped me out religiously.
