But for Tess, a new life begins at her death, in post-Civil War America. She is now Amarylis Rafferty, wife and mother of three — and she can hear. Shocked

I just spent two wonderful rainy afternoons completely engrossed in the historical romance/emotional drama in this book. It was pure escapism. I found myself on San Juan Island in Washington State a century ago and meeting some very loveable and interesting characters. I especially liked the heroine in this book. Having read at least 12 of Hannah's books, I am always amazed at the diversity of themes and characters and the fact that she makes each one so unique.

This was the first book that I read from this author, and since that time I have gone on to read all of her novels. I have worn the cover off of my copy. Tess and Jack will win your heart from the very beginning and you will not be able to put the book down until you get to the very end. The developing relationship between Savannah and Katie and their parents really tugs at the heartstrings. The mystical element was also an added bonus.

To be honest, I haven't even had time to crack the book open, but from reading several others of this author, I'm not worried if it will be good or not,so maybe after the holidays, I can settle down and use it as a New Year's resolution to read as much of her as I can!

The plot line was different from what one would expect. This book takes our main character back in time. I thought the descriptions of the time period were fascinating. The story itself was interesting and well written. I was not dissappointed, nor will you be! The end was a little predictable, but overall I felt this was a good read.

I am really bad about finding time to read. But this book captivated my attention and I could not stop reading! I finished in one day! I never do that! This is the first Kristin Hannah book I have read. I am on my way to Barnes & Noble at lunch to snatch up Angel Falls. My sister turned me on to Kristin Hannah and I'm so glad she did!

Kristin Hannah has done it again. This book was fast reading, exciting, compelling, with a touch of sadness and lots and lots of trust and love. When I read the AUTHOR'S NOTE, I was impressed that this was based on actual incidents. I have visited the San Juan Islands and love reading books that take you there.

I first got this book from my cousin in 97, and the cover now has no front because I have read it so much! Everyone who has a soft spot for romance will just LOVE this book! The love that Jack and Lisa have for eachother is incredible.
