i purchased this book knowing it was short. no problem with that, but it wasn't well written at all. they meet, they mate, and they fall in love all within the first chapter if not the first couple of pages. after that...the book just kinda died. the storyline was not well thought out. it just didn't make no sense at all! none of the characters were worth following in the book and nothing added up. it was like she just pulled a bunch of really short thoughts outta her head and put them into a really short book. i would not recommend this book.

Lissa decided to ignore her queer feelings about getting on the hotel shuttle. She needed to find another position, and it was the only way to make it to the job conference. What follows next is a near death experience that changes her life forever when a gorgeous vineyard owner rescues her. Atticus Maxwell is a vampire enforcer who's lived for centuries, yearning and hoping for the One to bring meaning to his life. Meeting Lissa knocks him out of his ennui once he's awakened to an all encompassing love. Could she be the One he's searched for? Once it's learned that the accident was no accident, Atticus does everything in his power to ensure that Lissa stays alive long enough for them to explore all the possibilities. Most of the vampire novels I tend to steer towards are usually dark, violent, brutal and brimming with lurid sex (think JR Ward), which makes them not quite as emotionally romantic as One and Only. This delightfully sweet paranormal romance carried an "R in Romantic" timeless vibe. Sure the sex is sensual, at times even naughty, but the amiable warmth here is old school. It's not in the bodice ripper class; there's definitely violin and piano music serenading reader heartstrings. Atticus is noble and honorable with that air of Byronic tragedy that makes him vulnerable without being a stuffy wimp. When he opens his heart and life to the equally lonely and engaging Lissa, I was so glad they finally found one another. There's a tender thread throughout that works well with themes of friendship, loyalty, and hope, as well as the continuing battle of good vs. evil. All in all, I was left with a pleasant feeling, which means I'd like to see where this series goes. Bianca D'Arc does well setting everything up for the next series installment, and I'm positive that she'll more than deliver on it. If that doesn't convince you, take a look at the mesmerizing delectable cover. Don’t get this if you’re looking for a long leisurely read, yes it is short but very detailed and it sets the next book up. If you do your research as I do before buying a book, you see that this is a novella. The first three books are; the next is 400+ pages.

This was not my favorite of the 5 vampire books by Bianca D'arc, but it sets you up for the rest of the ones to come. It starts to introduce you to the circle of old college friends and the circle of super hot bloodletters. It may not have been my favorite one, but I still loved every minute of it.

Great series

With the lure of romance and fantasy, I expected more than this disappointing, nearly plotless excuse for graphic sex.

Okay so the title says it all. The book seems rushed, you can see it has great potential to develop into a great book. Also can't stress this enough its a really short read. :/

The story was sweet how they found love but it all happen to.quick you don't get the chance to fall for their love. Everything just happens far to quick.

A 60 page very short story about a vampire Atticus that rescues a mortal human in a shuttle crash. Romance and lots of dominant sex, per usual for this author. The story is mainly a narrative with a little stilted dialog. Harlequin romance meets paranormal without dialog and explicit BDSM sex scenes in 60 pages. NOT one of her best.

really disappointed! the book was all sex and believe me I like reading the sexy stuff but this was just page after page with no story line. Not worth the money.

Well all I can say is go with the reviews. I wish I had. Horrible is being polite. There was absolutely no story. Met, had sex "fell in love" more sex.......more sex, get the picture? I'm sorry I wasted my time, wish I could get a do over. Will not be reading anything else from this author. Too bad there is not a no star option, this book truly deserves it.
