I thought I new what co-dependency was....I guess not. This book not only explains it but, also tells the story of and addict and co-dependant person. It is inspiring and informative from so many angles. I think people would be surprise how they infact may have characteristics of a co-dependant person and not even realize it. A must read.

Can't say I've ever read a book so detailed and so very readable from a person who has been down to the bottom, and manages to see light, and climbs up out of the hellish life of addiction. Simply fascinating. My own daughter is an addict in prison for drug related crimes. This book of Melody Beattie's gives me hope that one can come back and do good things for self and others. Anyone looking to read a Real Book of the descent of addiction, and the awaking of recovery, Don't pass this one up!

I was glued to this book. Melody Beatty has written an incredible story about her life and how she has had to deal with it. I am glad she wrote her story, and I am glad not to have had to live through her experiences.
