Matthew is taking a break before going to university, working at a cafe in Seattle. He's expecting to spend a few months meeting people, having fun and generally living it up before hitting the books.

Then he meets Drakon, a passionate, masculine man with an animal magnetism that draws Matthew in. When Drakon offers Matt a job, he thinks the man is full of shit.

I have read quite a few dragon-shifter books in the past few years and this one was not one of the better ones. The writing was decent but the storyline failed to develop very far. I felt there were so many missed opportunities to develop the characters that it weighed down the story. A bit more history on any of the three main characters might have turned this story around. As it was, it became very predictable and repetitious quickly. More background on the dragon would have been great and given insight as to the lore of the man and his nature. The butler/manservant/caretaker seemed to always be on the edge of being an excellent source of information as to the backstory, but never got that far. He was supposed to be a sympathetic aide to the young man, but was hindered by muddy motivation. And the young man lead ended up just being a pretty sex toy. All in all, I think my expectations were too high, and I just didn't connect enough with any of the leads to make this worth re-reading.
