Absolutely wonderful. Once out of print now available as an ebook. How could this have ever been allowed to go out of print? It's an engrossing mix of suspense, mystery, and romance with fascinating protagonists. These lovers are complicated, beautiful, and intelligent. So much fun to read about.

This is a great book!! Although the book got kind of confusing at times, I would recommend it to anybody.

I can't believe this won the Rita award. This was not a regency. It was a boring, slow moving story about Hinduism. No romance, no real affection, nothing. Will not recommend this to anyone.

Lots of typos from what i presume was an O C R translation of this to an ebook. The plot is slow...epitomized by a seven month boat journey. However I loved that slowness and the building of their powerful devotion to each other. The end was too rushed in my opinion. No sex scenes. Overall Loretta Chase is wonderful...I just wish she didnt have to stick to the 200 page format seemingly required in romance novels.

Painfully slow plot. Characters were poorly developed with no redeeming or entertaining qualities. While the author made some conversations go on forever with no purpose or reason, a bit more description of characters and their surroundings would have been appreciated. Love this author but cannot recommend this book. Editing was beyond awful as well.
