After staking out new territory with the underrated South of Heaven, Slayer brought back some of the pounding speed of Reign in Blood for their third major-label album, Seasons in the Abyss. Essentially, Seasons fuses its two predecessors, periodically kicking up the mid-tempo grooves

I bought this album way, way back in the early nineties and have listened to it hundreds of times. I just played it again and it's just as much fun as it ever was. Some things never get old!

Slayer is the fastest band you can come by if your in the mood for total thrash. Seasons in the Abyss is a loud, angry alblum that can't be listened to just once. War Ensemble is the fastest song I've ever heard and I dont mean just from Slayer. Its a good example of the anger I spoke of. Seasons in the Abyss (the last track on the alblum) I feel is the most popular of all Slayer songs. In fact, I think it was made to be just that. I'm sure Slayer sat down one day and said, ''O.K. let's make a song people will remember us by.'' I think most bands do that, in this case it payed off. This is Slayer's best.

This is the best slayer album because the riffs, arrangments and lyrics are at an apex on this slayer album. They added on to what they previously did and inhanced it. If you've never listened to slayer this should be your introduction and if you do listen to slayer you already know.
