Tyya's dad won't buy anything good at the store - no ice cream, no candy, no cookies. But when the saleslady puts a price sticker on Tyya's nose, Daddy is finally forced to buy something good.

Michael Martchenko's illustrations...are lively, simple and expressive. The characters practically jump off the page.

Just to let you know this book is only 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches big. It does not state this fact in the description of the book. The first graders I had purchased the books for as rewards were not interested in the small books; they wanted the big books (regular sized paperbacks). I had purchased three other titles of Robert Munsch. (The Boy in the Drawer, Murmel Murmel Murmel, and The Dark) I did not like any of them. To me they were silly, but not funny. I read them to my son (first grader). He said they were okay. Something Good is about a girl who goes grocery shopping with her father; he is buying healthy food and she wants junk food. That is where the trouble starts. I had thought this was going to be like an easy reader chapter book since it is listed as 32 pages. However, it is a short book. Half of the pages are used for color illustrations; they do help the reader to see the humor in the story.

This book is a really great one! The preschool children that I read it to, can't get enough. Of course you have to use the right voice and actions. Love Robert Munsch books.....

I love books by Munsh and this one is no other. Just plain fun... and illustrations are also beautiful. The other childrens book authors I recommend is Silverstein and Nowicki.
