I will run from any book this author has his name on. I followed the advice of skipping the first IRS appointment for the 2006 year, and got hit for 2005 and 2007 for rescheduling. According to the auditor, I would have only been audited for 2006 had I kept the appointment. She claimed she had to see the consistency in all 3 years due to the rescheduling. Had I kept the initial appointment, I would have only had to worry about 2006.

This book was very helpful as I was dealing with a back tax situation with the IRS. I referred to it constantly whenever those 'what do I do next?' type of questions came up. Mr. Daily goes into great, exhaustive detail on some subjects, but then glosses quickly over others. For example under the topic area of levys and liens, there are some big oversights ie. he failed to mention that a threat of levy notice has no expiration date even if you are in negotiations... something I found out the hard way over 8 months after I got one!. This is a good source for help with your tax problems, but do not rely on it as your sole source of information.

A review above says that my book advises "skipping" an audit, and the reader did so, and he was punished by an expanded audit. My reply to "Mr. or Ms. Anonymous": No where does my book advocate such an absurd action. I don't know what the motive of this individual was in writing this to disparage the book, and blackening my name. "Stand Up to the IRS" is the best selling book of all time for dealing with IRS issues, and has been in print continuously, and updated many times, since 1992. Rather than take my word for the value of the book, simply read the professional reviews, also posted on this site.
