So, I'll start off by saying I did not think I would be into the whole Operative-secret mission thing, but I loved Larissa Ione's Demonica series and liked that there was a paranormal aspect to this series and thought I'd give it a try. I am sold, I absolutely loved not only this book, but the series. In this story there is some BSDM play that touches on the deeper reasons the lifestyle is chosen as well as being descriptive. It was informative in a way, as well as making me blush a little (and I don't blush easily:)Taming the Fire brings back the characters that were met in the previous stories of the series and actually involves three different love stories. While the story is unique, it has the ultimate love, forgiveness, understanding themes.... along with incredibly hot sex.....seriously steaming....a lot of it! I do think that the whole ACRO series is best enjoyed when read in order, since their special skills as well as relationships play into it. These two authors work so well together....I'd love to see their brainstorming, LOL.

The parallel plots of Trace and Rik and Ryan and Meg dominate the book but significant events are occurring at home, as well. The past and the present collide clouding the future.  This one I had a hard time getting into it. I did not like the BDSM stuff that was going on in the beginning of the book. I guess that it's not my cup of tea. The story I felt was not as good as the earlier books either. I love HEA and it gave that to me. I could feel the love that had grown between them and the other characters in this book. I will be waiting once again for the next Sydney Croft book to come out.  I tip my hat to the writing team of Stephanie Tyler and Larissa Ione, who make up Sydney Croft. I can only hope they have more adventures planned for the ACRO world. I Joyfully Recommend Taming the Fire. This one has two primary plots. In the first, Trance, an excedo with super strength and the ability to hypnotize with a look, has been sent to bring in Ulrika [Rik] who is an escaped ITOR operative. Rik is a victim - her family destroyed by ITOR as they experimented with them - only she survives and has been mutated into a shapeshifter. ITOR controls her with a collar she has been unable to remove [it contains a bomb among other things] and she has been running, trying to stay beyond the range of the controller. Rik has been hiding in the BDSM community in London and to meet her Trance tries to play the part of a sub. Through the course of the book, and especially this portion, some very wild sex occurs [several times way beyond my comfort level]. In the second, Ryan, who was tortured and had his mind scrubbed in an earlier book, is provided with false memories of his life as an ITOR agent and sent out to take or kill Rik. Along the way Ryan kidnaps Meg who is the only person he remembers from his old life but he only remembers her existence, no details. This is a very good read, I highly recommend .

The 4th book in the ACRO series surely does not disappoint. Trance is on a mission to bring Ulrika (Rik), a wolf shapeshifter, into the fold at ACRO. Rik, who is on the run from Itor after an escape, still wears an Itor collar that helps Itor operatives keep track of her and also gives them the ability to "blow her head off" with a simple push of a button! Can you say "heart beating fast"? Trance and Rik meet in a bondage club as Trance is a dom in his personal life. Rik is a domme herself. You'll love reading about who comes out on top! Two alphas working things out makes for a great story! And, there are also the secondary characters storylines. It does not disappoint either, although I won't go into it here so as not to ruin it! This series has been outstanding and Taming the Fire kept me simmering...

I am a huge paranormal romance fan. I am no otude but parts of this book made me really uncomforatable. I didn't feel like the plot and the BSDM stuff meshed...It felt more like porn...you know sex without a plot?
