I've waited for this book a long time. I'm an occupational therapist who lectures nationally on the topic of Mealtime Success for Kids on the Spectrum, and uses the occupations of eating and play to address mealtime issues and healing autism. The authors compile and synthesize lots and lots of cutting edge research - the stuff on mitochondria, glial cells, immunology, etc. They make it easy to understand and they apply it in plenty of practical suggestions that any parent can use. What's more she talks about "reversing" autism with a variety of simple lifestyle changes - mostly dietary. Her anecdotes about patients cover an age range from toddler to adults. I only wish they had a bit more on the power of play - but otherwise - WOW!
