This "best law schools" list makes a general search of law schools easy - everything is all in one place. The schools are compared mostly "apple to apple" and that is emotionally satisfying. Don't let this satisfaction lull you into believing the information is the most current. It is not. For the best information you still should go to the individual school web sites. Often you will find the data in this book is off by a relatively wide margin because the data is a few years old. In the 1990's the lack of updating would matter less because the field of law was robust. Now that law schools are facing a steep decline in attendance and jobs for lawyers are drastically decreasing, accurate information about schools and their job placement rates is vital. Finally, I already owned the 2012 edition and had hoped the new one would have been significantly revised. The 2013 edition is not significantly different than the 2012 edition. Bottom line: good for general overview of schools; you still need to check schools individually to obtain current data; if you have 2012's edition I would not recommend purchasing the new edition. It may have one more school than 2012 but not much else.
