I read MANITOU years ago and although it isn't exactly credible (evil medicine man resurrected to do havoc on world), there are several scenes that make the skin crawl. Certainly better than alot of the recent horror junk. Masterton is an old pro and this one is probably his best.

This is the book that got me hooked on Masterton's books. What a hard to put down book filled with lots of wickedly cool scenes.
