I loved this book. It was very useful to me. It helped me remember words like antebellum 'existing before war' and bellicose 'warllike and aggresive'. I liked how it was set up. The only problem I had with this book was that it didn't say whether the word was a verb, adjective, adverb, noun, etc...

I would really recommend this book, because it has roots, pronunciation for those words that we're not familiar with, examples, good definitions, and quizzes.

I like this book because it was easy to understand and also very informative. Now let me say this. The book is not for someone trying to rush and study for an exam. Try it and see how much you like it. Go Merriam - Webster!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of words are good, but 3,000 is to much. Not all of these words are frequently used. This book doesn't provide enough review excersises to actually absorb all of the words. The review sections are very brief and not cumlative.
