I got this book from the library based on it's title, cover and the fact that the author also wrote Almost Famous (I enjoyed the movie, which I've gathered now is nothing like the book - I will be checking it out next). So I knew nothing about the book and had not heard of it. I read it in two days (which is fast for me, working, being a mom, etc.) and LOVED it! I am so disappointed that I can't find anything out about the author when I googled him. There's another David Small who illustrates children's books. Am I retarded? Is this the same guy who wrote this fantastic book (not to diminish illustrators and children's books which I plan to write some day)? How can David Small, author of Almost Famous, not have a website where fans can sing his praises? Please respond to this, I'm at email@example.com Ok, so in case it wasn't clear, I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to all.
