Maybe it was youthful exuberance or perhaps it was the fact that the band itself was not pulling all the strings, Three Imaginary Boys is not only a very strong debut, but a near oddity (it's an admittedly "catchy" record) in the Cure catalog. More poppy and representative of the times than any other album during their long career, See more details below

This is one of the most unique rock records ever made. Not Punk, not Goth, not Post Modern, truly "Alternative". The ORIGINAL Alternative. This music started the "no image" revolution that became popular everywhere and still continues to this day. Praise the band for doing exactly what they wanted to do, the way they wanted to do it, and still make it to boot! I never get tired of this stuff. How can someone get tired of something so beatiful and stupid at the same time?
