Touches Everyone
This book is very impressively written and undoubtedly holds the attention of any reader. I'm a college student. Jodie's drug addictions and alcoholism keep me interested. I also crew up during the Full House era. Any parents of children from that time would enjoy this book, as well. Definitely worth reading.

UnSweetined
Like alot of people my age, I grew up watching Full House and Jodie Sweetin who played the role of Stephanie Tanner was my favorite and the one who I related to most since, like Stephanie, I am the middle child of three girls. This was my main reason for buying this book and reading her story. UnSweetined is a perfect title for Jodie's memoir because it is her raw, not sugar-coated, candid account of what her life was like after Full House and into her world of hard partying and addictions to drugs and drinking. She talks about feeling insecure about herself, how she would use drugs and alcohol as a solution to all her problems, lying to her family and friends to hide her addictions and how it affected her relationships, going to rehab, and all the times she relapsed. The most suprising part to me was how she would go to colleges and do these speeches about her recovery but then get high that night or have just done drugs hours before! When she becomes pregnant with a baby girl (that's right, little Stephanie, is a mother now!), she decides what kind of person and mother she wants to be and starts making changes in her life. Even though this book is about a dark time period in her life, Jodie writes with a great sense of humor even making a few jokes about Full House. She starts off her memoir by stating how sobriety is an ongoing struggle she deals with every day. And despite the fact that even now in the present, she has alot of things weighing on her shoulders- financial issues, a second divorce, a custody battle, and her fight for sobriety, she now understands on how to handle these situations better.

Wonderful Book
I really enjoyed this book. I grew up with Full House and I really enjoyed the full truth that Jodie gave in the book. She didn't sugar coat anything and takes full responsibility of her drug and alcohol addiction. I am glad to see that she is clean and that every day is a struggle to stay that way. It goes to show that she is a human being and that even though she is a famous person, she is real and she took the responsiblility to become straight and sober.

Harsh, but Truthful. Not to be missed.
A harsh look at the life of a TRUE drug addict. Despite her celebrity status, Jodie really has an addiction. I hope she can stay clean. Judging from the book, it will be a tough road her entire life. The book is well written and interesting!

Her saving grace
Her honesty is admirable. She depicts addiction in a geniune light. It's really too bad that they denied her work because of her success. I see why Jessica Biel got fired from Seventh Heaven. That push to get fired (she purposely got fired) led to an acting career after the show ended.

Wow!
All I can say is good luck to her in the future. Now she has two children and getting married a third time. Maybe third one's the charm? This memoir is an amazing book. I laughed, cried, got frustrated with her choices, but could also in a strange way related. She is a sweet girl. Unfortunately type-casted. But still a good actress. Not given enough credit. Not really given a chance after Full House. A shame.

great book!
Jodie does a great job of not only humanizing addiction but also humanizing the child star. She doesn't glamorize anything or make herself into any sort of savior, instead writes the book from the humble point of view of a girl who was lost for a long time. A definate must read for anyone who is interested in learning about addictions.

An honest inside look at a life behind the camera
Before selecting this book- I noticed a lot of readers disappointed by the fact that Stephanie doesn't write a lot about her time on Full House. This is true, but no where in the title or on the sample did I think I would be getting this from the book. It is very obvious that it is about "her" life and not a TV show she was once on. She is very open about her life, her struggles, and choices. I found myself sad at many times when she was so close to making the right decision, but then didn't. I appreciated the honesty she gave us readers, but hoped for more positive moments. I finished the book feeling that I gained a lot of insight in a life that is very different from mine and from people I have been associated with.

Full House and drugs...
I grew up with Full House and I always loved Jodie's character Stephanie. She was so much like me. Though reading everything she went through before she got involved with drugs and alcohol I realized that our personalities were more alike than I had thought.
When I got this book in the mail I read it that day, I finished the book. It was very good in my opinion. But if you want the book definitely buy it online because they want 25 dollars in store, which is a rip-off for this book. Its not 25 dollars. I only paid about 13 dollars without shipping and plus taxes, yay for sales. Its a very easy read, it will make you laugh, make you cry and her book does get in touch with a lot of her feelings that she just wanted to throw under the bridge and forget about. The book was worth what I paid for it. At first I only bought the book because I loved her and the character she seemed so wholesome. Boy was I wrong when I read it. After reading the book, you got a whole different perception on both her husbands, her first choice, was definitely the better of the two. She was a litle foolish throwing her police officer hubby away, but she got a beautiful little girl as the outcome of her life. That part was definitely worth it.0 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Unsweetined
Who didn't enjoy the television program "Full House" when it was on the air? The Olden twins got a lot of attention, but what about the cute middle sister, Stephanie Tanner? Jodie Sweetin grew up on the series, and then it ended. Out of the spotlight and back into the real world, this insecure young woman went on a downward spiral into the world of drugs and alcohol. Sweetin shows the reader in her book "Unsweetined" what it was like being a kid on a hit TV show and life after all that was over. She goes into detail of her life being drunk and high, trying to get back into acting, getting married twice and having a child. Even while writing this memoir, she relapsed. Hopefully, with the birth of her daughter, she will stay clean and sober. A remarkable tale of a Hollywood child.
