This book was every bit as good as the first two in this series. The world building is done so well that I felt like I was in London (I was actually really squicked out by the sewer scenes because it was so enveloping). The characters are so engaging and the plot is excellent. This is Urban Fantasy at its finest. I can't wait for more adventures with Peter especially to see how his "talent" grows with Nightengale's guidance. Thanks Mr Aaronovitch for the ride. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book!

Peter Grant is a London Policeman whose Mum from West Africa chooses to call "witchfinder." according to Chapter 1. We are introduced to characters with the variable manifestations of spirits, goblins, fairies and animating principes, and hard-boiled Constable Inspectors. In the novel Whispers Underground, the mystery's bohemian and captivating characters are noted and explained by Peter Grant, Detective Constable. Finally, he must return back to the depths underground to solve a murder of a young man discovered dead on a subway platform near Ladbroke Grove. A witty mystery with a vivid set of characters from many walks of life, with dazzling turns as Peter Grant gets pulled into seeking out a murder weapon that is an artifact of a hidden culture with a unique magical signature. Highly Entertaining.

Are you a closet Harry Potter fan? Did you secretly read the books when your children did? Or maybe you don't have children and read them anyway. Welcome to the world of Peter Grant. In this, the much awaited third book in the series, Peter and his friends once again tread lightly between the cops and robbers of London and the supernatural. The author propels the reader through the pages with humor, and more twists than a bag of pretzels. This is by no means a series for children, some of the situations are definitely adult. This is a series that just HAS to continue. Don't take so long next time, Ben!
