William Henry Harrison, our ninth president, had the distinction of having the shortest term in office. He's become little more a footnote in our history, until now. Gail Collins goes in depth and tells the reader more about Harrison than probably any U.S. History course in any high school or college ever has. His childhood and upbringing, his military career, and his political career culminating in the 1840 election of "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too."

A succinct work for a short presidency, this book is nicely written and actually a good piece of history. Given the unenviable task of writing a presidential biography of the shortest presidential tenure (a month), the author succeeds in painting a knowledgeable picture of the man for the reader, and casting this president's bio as relevant and worth reading.

This slim biography is worth reading. President Harrison accomplished much, despite being remembered for spending the shortest time in office. Another solid entry in the American Presidents Series.
