Overview

Photographer Ada Worthington, a widow, moves to Willow Creek, a small southern town buying a small farm where she hopes to build a haven for animal rescue. Friendships with two local families provide a solid base in the community despite the busybody Bailey sisters. An unlikely romantic involvement develops with a local farrier, widower Jacob Barnes, complicates the matter upsetting both of their lives.
Ada finds her farm and her dog a victim of assault and vandalism and seeks to secure it. Shortly after, a teenage boy, Walker Brogan, who works for her is held for questioning by the sheriff in the death of his friend. Protecting a childhood friend, he falsely confesses to the murder of the troubled teenager, one who Ada knows is responsible for the attacks on her farm and animals.
As other past secrets of her new friends emerge she finds herself caught up in the complicated lives of locals and discovers she not really the loner she thought she wanted to be. Though relationships and people are complex, in the end with love, trust and honesty there's always hope.
