Serenity Falls is dead. No commerce, tourism, or good will. It gets worse.

An historian has uncovered the town's unspeakable past: lynchings, mass murders, sexual depravity, and rumors of the birth of the anti-Christ. But the darkest secret is yet to be revealed—in the Serenity Falls trilogy.

This book is an easy read, and the pace does keep moving along. I did have the advantage of having all three parts to Serenity Falls before I started, so I kept a smooth flow through the whole story without having to wait for the next installment. I agree with the other reader, in that the hero does come off with a somewhat superior attitude, but then, after what he accomplishes, he deserves to. I enjoyed reading all three books, and would really like to see Mr. Moore write this main character into some future books. Mr. Moore is not Stephen King, who I am totally addicted to, but he has his own style which I thought was crisp and refreshing. James, keep up the good work.

The back flap gives it more juice than it actually has. The writing is elementary, with a weak plot. I was intrigued by the idea of a writer writing a history of a quiet town and uncovering the history wasn't so quiet and innocent. Nevertheless, it's boring and a disappointment.

At first the book was interesting but it appears author borrowed every horror plot/ scenario from buffy to king to Bradbury. Hero comes off as a wise cracking 'night stalker' ala 'Buffy TVS' which loses its appeal very quickly...Overall its a quick read and good pulp fiction...Surprised Warhammer or EverQuest didnt publish this series. If you like this series try the'Witch Hunter'series by Warhammer. They are good -quick reading...
