Teaming with producer Peter Asher, master of lush but discreet country-pop productions, Raul Malo tackles some standards and near-standards, adds a stirring, self-penned Latin number, and works some interpretive brilliance on each and every tune. By the end of the disc, he's staked his own claim on songs that seem inextricably linked to their original purveyors. Malo,

Raul Malo has one of the most beautiful, expressive voices of anyone singing today. This album is one to turn up the volume, close your eyes and listen to the words and the way he sings them. His solo rendition of Feels Like Home and the song Remember are just amazing. All of the selections on this album are beautiful. It is an album you will listen to over and over again, and never be sorry you bought it.

I love this album so much that I bought about ten of them as Christmas gifts. I plan on buying more for other occasions. It's just gorgeous!

Raul Malo is the premier song stylist of his generation. With the beautifully produced "Your Only Lonely", Raul has finally put it all together with a terrific song selection, including a cover of J.D. Souther's haunting "Your Only Lonely". The CD is a wonderful selection of songs sung with heartbreaking reverence, as well as a deep understanding of the melody found within every song on the album. It is a flat-out brillant piece of work from one of the most under-appreciated artists of his time. The teardrop found inside his vocals carries the Etta James classic "At Last" into a league of his own. This album is one for the ages. Completely awesome.

Romantic and wonderful. Brought the finest of Willie and Roy Orbison, to Etta James together. Loved it...

Raul Malo emerges from the now-defunct Mavericks with a ground-breaking release. The songs are some of his favorites and the emotions pour out of every cut. This is the true beginning of what will undoubtedly become a stellar solo career.
