It's been six months since the vaccine went bad and introduced zombies into the world. Matt and Sarah have gathered all the survivors they could find, protecting and teaching them how to survive in this post-infected world. They've arranged for one last raid into town to try and survive through the oncoming winter. Trouble is, no one could truly prepare them for what

This was a better & shorter story than the first. It was only 49 Nook Tablet pages long. But, it was worth my time and 99¿. This is the 2nd part in a series of zombie apocalypse tales. The first book introduced us to the two leading characters, Matt and Sarah. They both had bad childhoods and parents. But, later, they ended up in the same happy and loving foster home. Together, they figured out how to survive the initial onslaught of smart zombies in an old farm house outside of town. The next story happens six months later in part #2. This is probably how normal and somewhat intelligent people would react to a zombie apocalypse. Matt and Sarah never went to military school or joined the armed forces. They have only their wits and love (and the small armory that they scavenged) to keep them safe. Matt and Sarah are just regular people with a strong will to survive. Book #2 is written a bit differently than #1. It follows each of the three separate scavenging teams in the city, and the people waiting at home in the farm/safehouse. These independent plot lines finally merge together in the end. I was dissatisfied because the ending seemed incomplete. It just stops following a major scene. No conclusion or epilogue. I am certain that this series will have a part #3, but that is not an excuse for not finishing this storyline. Also, there were a few spelling/grammar issues. It did not bother me much. Otherwise, I liked this story a lot. I would recommend it to people who enjoy a more plot-driven zombie story, rather than just guns & gore. The romance, action, and character development were well balanced and entertaining. -AvidReader

>>This story started off okay and just got kind of lost for me. The survivors have an incredibly sweet set up but make a lot of stupid mistakes...between planning and scavenging excursions that just had me scratching my head. The logic was just not there. Every time it hits the fan it is all frantic- and two minutes later the problem is solved. I dont know...it was just 'okay'.

If you're looking for a short, one-dimentional read, this is it. The writing isn't as good as I was hoping but its not unbearable. The author states that she never really intended for it to be much more than a short story, so kudos that she's making some money off the deal. Wording is a bit repetitive and the "climactic" ending leaves something to be desired. All in all, I didnt give up on it because I genuinely enjoy zombie fiction. But if you're hoping for a page-turner or deep plot development with memorable/lovable characters you can get emotionally attached to, keep looking.
