About the Author

Sunny Lockwood has loved reading and writing since she was a child. Among her favorite authors: Laura Ingalls Wilder, Loren Eiseley, C.S. Lewis, Flannery O'Connor, Katherine Anne Porter, Anna Quindlen and Alexander McCall Smith.

Publications began buying her stories and poems when she was a high school junior. After college, she was a magazine editor, a weekly newspaper editor and, later, a daily newspaper reporter.

Her stories and articles have won awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the National Federation of Press Women. Her freelance stories have appeared in national and regional magazines.

Shades of Love, stories from the heart, is her first fiction collection.

Not So Fast travel essays explore interesting places in the American West from her very personal point of view.

She lives with her husband on 22 wild and weedy acres in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
