Does becoming a millionaire guarantee happiness? That's the premise of Closed on Mondays.

Emily led an average ordinary life until one Monday when she visited one of her favorite New York City icons, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The sign on the door read, Closed on Mondays. In rearranging her day, she met someone who would change her life forever.

Shortly thereafter, she inherited a lot of money, and decided to share her wealth with her best friend, Beth. They vacationed in Paris, and quite unexpectedly bought an art gallery. Subsequently, they found that they owned an original Matisse that the former owners hadn't recognized as an original. Deaths of people important to her followed. Despite a new love, she eventually fled back to the States, as she felt threatened living in France.

More adventure followed her. Another love, her soul mate, another loss, and her first child, Scottie. She adjusted to living a pampered life in the City, but something was missing. The lost piece of her life puzzle appeared one day, as fate intervened. Her life was finally back on course, and she dared to be happy again.
