About the Author

Dorothy M. Richardson (1873-1957) was an English novelist, journalist, and teacher.  Her life's work was a 13-volume novel series entitled Pilgrimage, comparable in scope to the work of Proust and regarded as an early milestone in feminist fiction, in which she pioneered the modernist literary technique of stream of consciousness.
