William Benjamin Basil King (1859–1928) was a Canadian-born clergyman who became a writer after retiring from the clergy. King wrote a number of best-selling novels, including The Inner Shrine, The Wild Olive, and The Street Called Straight. Many of his novels and non-fiction works were spiritually oriented.
