About the Author

Davies is a noted Sherlockian, co-founder and Co-President of The Northern Musgraves Sherlock Holmes Society and editor of its journal the Sherlock Holmes Gazette. He has written two Sherlock Holmes novels, The Tangled Skein and Sherlock Holmes and the Hentzau Affair, plus the assiduously researched survey Holmes of the Movies, and his biography of Jeremy Brett, Bending the Willow.
David Stuart Davies is a leading expert on Sherlock Holmes. The author of seven novels, two plays about the great detective and several books on the dramatised Holmes, he is an invested Baker Street Irregular. His Yorkshire Noir DI Paul Snow series is set in the 1980s, while private investigator Johnny Hawke inhabits 1940s London, and supernatural sleuth Luther Darke lurks in turn of the century London. David was editor of Sherlock magazine, and edits Red Herrings for the Crime Writers Association.
