In '71, between high school and university, Phil takes a summer job cooking at a diner in his home town in upstate New York. When the waitress's ex-husband is stabbed to death, the police suspect the head cook, Randal. Phil believes that Randal is innocent and is pulled into a dangerous world of outlaw bikers and drug dealers as he struggles to find the real killer.
