About the Author


RICH LANDERS graduated in journalism from the University of Montana in 1975. He has worked with Field and Stream magazine, Montana Outdoors, Outside, Runner's World, Pacific Northwest, Western Outdoors and Popular Mechanics. He has been recognized as the Conservation Writer of the Year by both the Idaho Conservation League and the Washington Enviornmental Council.



Craig Romano is an avid hiker, runner, kayacker, and cyclist. He is the author of Best Hikes with Dogs Inland Northwest, Columbia Highlands: Exploring Washington's Last Frontier, as well as Backpacking Washington, Day Hiking Columbia River Gorge, Day Hiking Olympia Peninsula, Day Hiking: North Cascades, Day Hiking Central Cascades, and Winter Hikes of Western Washington Deck.
