What types of payment do you accept?

We accept American Express, MasterCard, Discover, Visa, Diners Club, JCB, and purchasing cards.

Do you offer Gift Cards or Online Gift Certificates?

Yes. We sell Barnes & Noble Gift Cards and Online Gift Certificates. Both can be used to purchase books from our Textbooks store, as well as all other Barnes & Noble.com products.

When does the charge go through to my credit card?

Your credit card will be billed when we ship your order, generally 24 hours after you place it.

What are my shipping options?

We know you need your textbooks as fast as you can get them. So now we offer Expedited Delivery to anyone purchasing college textbooks! Choose Expedited Delivery as your shipping option and receive your books within 3 business days of their shipment. If you need your books even sooner, you can choose Air Service or Expedited Air Service as your shipping option. As always, we also offer FAST&FREE DELIVERY in 3 days or less on qualifying orders when you spend $25 or more (see details).

When can I expect to receive my books?

To find out when you will receive your item, you need to consider the availability of the item you ordered and the shipping option you selected. The equation we use is:

Available-to-Ship Time + Delivery Method Ship Time = Total Delivery Time

For example, if your order ships within 24 hrs, your total delivery time will be 4 days (24 hours + 3 Day Delivery = 4 business days). Orders placed after noon on Friday or at any time during the weekend will not be shipped until the following Monday. Please keep in mind that we do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.

What is a business day?

"Business days" are Monday to Friday, excluding holidays observed by the Post Office and UPS.

How will I know that my order is on its way?

When you successfully submit an order you will see a confirmation screen. You will also receive a confirmation email within two to three hours. When your order is shipped you will receive a second email with a tracking number. If you do not receive a confirmation screen or email, we may not have received your order.
