The Perfect Hope (Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy #3)
Nora Roberts is an amazing author, so it's very difficult to single out just one of her books. I finally decided to choose The Perfect Hope. I just finished reading it, and it was excellent. This was the third book in her Inn BoonsBoro trilogy. I'm glad she saved Ryder's story for last because he was my favorite of the three brothers. I think I especially liked this series because I've been to BoonsBoro and seen the beautiful countryside. Reading a story set in this gorgeous place brought back some lovely memories.

This is a great historical romance. At first, I may have responded to it because the heroine, Sara, is an author in a time when women didn't have such aspirations, but once I met the hero, Derek, I was swept away by the love story. He's probably one of the sexiest and most complex characters ever.

Outlander (Outlander Series #1)
Outlander grabbed me from page one, and I flew through the other 600+ pages in no time. It's one of the romance genre's greats.

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy #1)
A terrific book. I loved the way it mixes the paranormal characters of witches and vampires with the facts of history and science, and then ties them all together in a great love story.

It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars Series #1)
This story is romantic, sexy, and very funny. The main characters -- Phoebe, the new owner of a football team, and Dan, the head coach -- have their hang-ups, and sparks fly when they're together, but it's so much fun to watch them work their way through this love/hate relationship. You won't soon forget them.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Edith Grossman
One of the most beautifully written novels ever. It's the story of a man's passionate love for a woman that endures a lifetime even though he can't be with her -- a perfect book for hopeless romantics.

The mail order bride theme has been done many times, but, in my opinion, no one has captured the loneliness and longing, the struggle and the triumph, better than LaVyrle Spencer. Anna, the heroine, is feisty and strong, yet very loving. As she grows and adapts to her new husband and her new life in frontier Minnesota, you feel as though you're on this incredible journey with her.
