Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Sharp pictures of animals and objects are associated with the numbers one through ten , and then the book jumps to 15 and 20. The white space focuses the eyes on the animals and kids will enjoy counting what they see on each page. Some of the choices are unusual, such as the six shoes hung out to dry. The text is appropriate for the target audience, but the real interest is found in the pictures. Also in the "My First Board Books" series are Colors, ABC, Nature and others.

    Good beginning counting book

I bought this book for my granddaughter as a good, basic beginning counting book. She is almost two and they had started counting concepts at day care. The pictures are colorful and gets "the idea" across. It is also enjoyable when re-read many, many times. Being a board book is also an advantage for younger aged children. It is also reasonably priced.
