Overview

A soft voice, calming and soothing, heard in the distance. Eyes flutter, and then in a blink, darkness. A deep breath drawn, that raises ones chest to the brink of pain, then normalcy. Then light where there was darkness.

Before one, a cobblestone street lit only by a weak gas street lantern. The foggy night is thick with moist heavy air married with the strong ashes from factories and homes.

Panic arises. Unwilling to remember, the comforting voice escorts the woman into remembering, remembering back...

This is the life of Elizabeth Gustafsdotter, who later became known as Elizabeth Stride.

She was a peasant farmer's daughter that craved a life of betterment, which she believed only could be found in a city.

Through her hopes and desires, through the decades, you are welcomed to experience this life from her own journal that is more than mere prostitute's conquest memoirs. This journey will lead you straight to September 29, 1888.

On this particular Wednesday, Elizabeth Stride was in a contented mood. After a long workday, Elizabeth went out for the evening to partake in some merriment. Instead, she becomes the third carnal victim of Jack the Ripper.

Her journal gives insights into her life of hopes and dreams that never fade from her heart. In the end you will come to feel compassion for a woman whose optimism prevails through adversity, until the moment of her murder.

This journey spans three countries and over one hundred years....

An untraditional premise with an untraditional format, for those who seek to see a soul’s secret more than a telling of a tale.

Welcome to the life of the third carnal victim of 'Jack the Ripper'.

    Wow!

What a story, what an unfolding of thought. So drawn in, I read it right through. To say "Haunting" seems a pale understatement. I loved this book.
