Two years ago, Capitol/Apple/EMI Records remastered the entire Beatles catalogs including the Beatles Stereo Box Set and the Beatles in Mono. Last year, it was the Beatles 1962-1966 (Red) and the Beatles 1967-1970 (Blue). This year in 2011, they remastered the Beatles 1. When it was first released in 2000, it became the fasting selling album and reach number one in the Billboard top 200 album chart and around the world. It became Billboard top album of 2000. Following the success of 1, several recording artist tried to do the same thing. The king of rock and roll and the definitive king of kings, Elvis Presley, did it with Elvis 30 #1 Hits. Like the Beatles 1, it hit number one in the Billboard top 200 chart and around the world making Elvis Presley the second recording artist to have with his own number one album hit the music charts in different countries. Elvis 30 #1 Hits is also my favorite album too. The Bee Gees, Michael Jackson, and other recording artists tried to do the same thing, but did not make it to number one on the Billboard music chart as well as around the world. After listening to the remastered version of the Beatles 1, it sounded bigger, louder, and better than ever. It is still one of my favorite Beatles albums ever. The Beatles Stereo Box Set is also my favorite Beatles album. Like the title of the album itself, the Beatles 1 is the number one album of all time. Also, the Beatles still remained the most famous and influential musical group of all time. Beatles fans come together both young and old.

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Apparently, there was a gap in the Beatles' catalog, after all -- all the big hits weren't on one tidy, single-disc compilation. It's not the kind of gap you'd necessarily notice -- it's kind of like realizing you don't have a pair of navy blue dress socks -- but it was a gap all the same, so the group released The Beatles 1 late in 2000, coinciding with the publication of their official autobiography, the puzzlingly titled Anthology. The idea behind this compilation is to have all the number one singles the Beatles had, either in the U.K. or U.S., on one disc, and that's pretty much what this generous 27-track collection is. It's easy, nay, necessary, to ...
