excellent book dealing with the key people in the Bible

Reviewed by Lynn F. for Readers Favorite

10 Minutes to Knowing the Men & Women of the Bible by Jim George is an excellent book dealing with the key people in the Bible. Beginning with Adam and Eve, and continuing through Cain and Able, the main judges, kings and prophets right up to Jesus, the reader gets a panoramic picture of these person's lives and how God used their major trials, experiences and problems to work through them. With a brief background and quick sketch about each person, we are then introduced to a bigger picture and portrait about each, concluding with life lessons learned from their lives to apply to our own. Each short biography takes about 10 minutes to read, but in that short time, one gathers quite a bit of information, not only about their lives but for everyday living.

I got a lot of information out of the short biographies and how to apply lessons learned to my own life. It's a book that you do not have to read from the first page to the last. With the chapters listed in the front of the book with each name of the Biblical person, one can pick and choose who they want to read and study about at that time. This is an ideal book for a Sunday School class, a small group study or just for your own personal study. I really like the life's lessons at the end of each chapter. One soon learns they were not perfect people, and the episodes in their lives are still prevalent today in our lives. Reading about them will help us. Recommended for everyone.
