investing and learning tools and notes in first 60 pages is best part.
this author concentrates on value and fundmentals which is what i like also.
needs and index of stocks at back of book along with pg nbr references,
like most books do.
right now the index of stocks starts on pg 68 and does not show pg nbrs
even though it is in alpha order.
the individual summary reviews along with ten year stats is very well done and useful.

This is a book I buy every year as one of my "must have" references. I use it for my own research in managing my own investment portfolio. It is a convienent way to get a quick overview of a company and to compare companies within the same line of business.
The authors do not have any sales pitch or vested interst to sell stuff to the reader. This is refreshing & lends credibility & candor to their work.
This year, I really wanted to see if anything had changed in the selections, given the current economic recession. The usual "big name" companies still made the list, and there are a few newcomers. There is a short essay section on the current economic situation. But overall, little has changed.
I would like to see the authors examine & possibly include some medium-sized companies in their listings. And to expand their selections beyond the familiar names.
This compilation is the result of a tremendous amount of time & work, and for that, I am grateful for the authors committment to investor education & impartiality.

I have purchased this book of the same name for about eight years, and have used it to my financial advantage. This years edition with a new author but under the same name does not have the same warm and intuitive feel. Not a bad, difficult or unfamiliar style and analysis of stocks but did not feel as connected to this writer. I have continued to use this books review in my review of equities with less weight than prior years when stacked against other resources.
