Ripple stitches, with their undulating waves (or sharp angles), are a common stitch pattern in crochet. Morgan (100 Colorful Granny Squares To Crochet) demonstrates the beauty and versatility of ripple stitches in this colorful guide. Despite the title, there are only 50 stitch patterns covered in the book (the other 50 are color variations, as noted in the subtitle), but there's still ample variety. Each stitch pattern includes both a close-up and distance color photograph of the swatch, written and charted instructions, descriptions of any special or unusual stitches used, and a measurement for one pattern repeat in the specified yarn (worsted-weight yarn and a size H hook were used for all the samples). A selection of projects, including afghans, a pillow, a purse, and a scarf, demonstrates the versatility of the stitch patterns. VERDICT Stitch guides are popular with crocheters who enjoy designing their own projects, and this collection, which includes both motifs crocheted in the round and row-based stitches, has plenty of appeal.

100 Colorful Ripple Stitches to Crochet: 50 Original Stitches &a

100 Colorful Ripple Stitches to Crochet: 50 Original Stitches & 50 Fabulous Colorways for Blankets and Throws is a wonderful crochet pattern book. I'm a fan of the ripple stitch, I feel like it's an oldie but goody and very versatile.

This book makes me want to immediately grab my hook and yarn and get to making a ripple ghan. There are some creative stitch patterns here as well as five full crochet projects; Retro Rose Afghan, Charleston Bag, Jitterbug Purse and San Francisco Pillows and Botticelli Scarf.
The presentation is beautiful. The photos are vibrant and the instructions are clear. There's a stitch guide, a section about reading patterns properly and instructions on edging for reference. I whipped up a Jasmine star.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful pattern book for crocheters to add to their collection! I can see myself referring to this pattern book time and again for project ideas.

Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin for providing me with a review copy.

Such a wonderful book for a beginner like me, so awesome!!!

Wonderful book of patterns so easy to follow. I love the beginners patterns and I am soooo a beginner but with this book I slightly moved up a notch, thank you very much. I needed to know the very basics and yep it was there, Materials and Notions and Crochet hooks (what size) that helped a lot and notice the photo of the types of hooks and if your work is too tight or too loose for me, duh check out the hooks:D What is so fascinating about this book the beautiful photos and easy to follow instructions, hey I did it, you can too. Thank you very much, again. I won this book on Goodreads, First Read Giveaway. Thank you, Darlene Cruz I highly recommend this book to whoever would love to learn how to crochet.
