Purpose: The authors wish to dispel many of the inaccuracies that surround surgery of the breast. Doing so, they have offered a way for consumers of these procedures to make decisions from a platform based upon germane questions that should be addressed and their answers. They have admirably achieved their intended goal.
Audience: "The duo who conceived this book addresses both the marketing and medical information necessary to allow readers to make correct decisions concerning breast surgery. This book is expressly oriented towards women and the occasional man who is contemplating surgery of the breast. Professionals who interact with those having breast surgery, such as physicians and surgeons, psychologically oriented caregivers, and medical and nursing students, as well as family members who desire an enhanced understanding of what this undertaking entails, will reap the benefits of this book. "
Features: The book commences with a brief overview of how to choose a surgeon, what breast procedures are available, and why one would desire surgery. Medical terminology when used is defined in the margins along with additional web addresses and sites that may provide further information.
