About the Author

Kinan K. Hreib, MD, PhD, is a senior neurologist at the Lahey Clinic. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology and then joined the MD-PhD program at Boston University, which he completed in 1991. He then trained in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center and completed his Neurology residency at the Neurological Unit of Boston City Hospital. Dr. Hreib joined the Lahey Clinic in 1995 and became the director of vascular neurology. Dr. Hreib heads the quality improvement project for stroke at Lahey, and he is a member of several national committees on quality improvement. He has written several book chapters in neurology and published several peer reviewed articles on stroke. Over the years, Dr. Hreib has given many lectures on stroke and quality improvement, and he is also involved in clinical studies as well as novel research projects on stroke.
