Great book for a great price.

1000 Tattoos is a great book, although there is very little text it has the largest selection of photographs from the early days of tattooing. The collection of old school tattoos is amazing, it also contains a section of ethnographic tattoos, japanese tattoos, and also photographs of present day tattoo art. The selling point though, for me was the wide selection of traditional tattoos. This book is a great buy no matter what although people with an interest in tattoo history or traditional tattooing will ecspecially like this book.

    Fantastic Collection

This truly is a great collection of tattoo photography. It's divided into several sections, covering various eras in the development of tattooing. I found the section on contemporary tattoo a little disappointing, although given the surge in interest in our art over the last 10-15 years it must have been difficult deciding which images to include - there are probably millions of candidates.
The book also contains an introductory essay by Henk Schiffmacher(in English, French and German), which is presumably humourous in nature. At least I hope so: the prospect of tattoo ink containing spit and semen does not fill me with joy.
In conclusion, if you're remotely interested in tattoo art - buy this book!
